Energy Recovery Device – AE Turbocharger

The AE Turbocharger Energy Recovery Device is designed to improve the energy efficiency of reverse osmosis (RO) systems by recovering hydraulic energy from the concentrate stream. By converting wasted pressure energy into usable mechanical power, the device reduces overall system energy consumption and improves operational efficiency.

AE Turbochargers are commonly used in brackish water and seawater reverse osmosis systems, helping reduce operating costs while maintaining stable system performance.

What the system is and what problem it solves?

Reverse osmosis systems require high pressure to force water through membranes, which results in a significant amount of unused pressure energy being discharged with the concentrate stream.

The AE Turbocharger Energy Recovery Device captures this otherwise wasted energy and converts it into useful mechanical power to assist the RO process. This improves system efficiency, reduces energy consumption, and lowers the overall operating cost of the water treatment plant.
